Automation raises standards in biofuel projects.

Discover the technology that is transforming ethanol production and ensuring precision and traceability at the new FS Fueling Sustainability plant in Campo Novo do Parecis.
Automação eleva padrões em projetos de biocombustíveis

The construction of large-scale greenfield industrial projects requires more than just a high investment; it demands the guarantee that the venture will be built with the highest standards of automation and safety. Choosing the right technology for critical processes, such as truck loading and inventory management, is fundamental to the success of the entire operation.

The solution to meet this need involves an integrated approach that combines two technological fronts: intelligent loading and telemetry of storage tanks. Together, they create a cohesive and fail-safe operational flow, raising control, traceability, and productivity to a new level.

“A automação do carregamento e a gestão de estoque em tempo real são cruciais para a competitividade, pois garantem não só a precisão, mas a segurança e a rastreabilidade em uma escala que a operação manual jamais seria capaz”, destaca Lins Vieira, responsável por Desenvolvimento de Negócios na FLUXO.

The FS Fueling Sustainability case study: intelligent automation as a growth strategy.

With an investment of R$ 2 billion in the construction of its fourth plant, FS Fueling Sustainability is at the forefront of this modernization movement. The company opted for a strategic approach and relied on FLUXO to enable the supply of a complete and fully integrated system. After construction, the unit will have the capacity to produce approximately 540 million liters of ethanol per year.

Operation sequence: from truck to documentation

Automated loading follows a logical sequence that eliminates rework and ensures the efficiency and safety of the operation. The process begins with vehicle entry and ends with the automatic issuance of tax documents. Learn more below:

1. Safety during shipping: The system initiates operation by automatically verifying the truck's grounding and permits via EXATA monitors. Through interlocks, it prevents spills, protecting the product and crews from any operational incident.

2. Precision and productivity: With safety validated, the Fusion4 pre-determiners come into play to guarantee the exact cargo volume. This step ensures process repeatability and reduces shipping time, eliminating the need for readjustments. The result is metrological compliance and increased productivity.

3. Control and traceability: Finally, the system automatically identifies the vehicle and integrates with the plant's management system. This integration allows for the automatic generation of reports and tax documents, providing product traceability and complete control over shipping.

Complete visibility of inventory.

Real-time inventory management is key to the operational efficiency of a large-scale plant.

The storage tank telemetry system provided by FLUXO transforms manual inventory into continuous and intelligent control, with a complete measurement chain and inventory software.

  • Continuous level and temperature measurement (Honeywell Enraf radar and temperature strips), with volume compensation and using tank curvature;
  • Configurable level alarms, real-time trends and diagnostics;
  • Centralized inventory with reconciliation, mass balance, and native integration with SCADA and corporate systems;
  • Dashboards and reports for compliance, shipping planning, and decision-making.

With telemetry, the FS plant now has minute-by-minute visibility of inventory levels, which minimizes losses, avoids downtime due to product shortages, and optimizes loading schedules, including triggers for releasing the yard based on available capacity and level windows.

Redefining the standard of excellence in the biofuels market.

The solution's key differentiator is its end-to-end integration. In addition to supplying the skids and instruments, FLUXO is responsible for application engineering, acceptance testing, commissioning, and team training.

This approach shortens the deployment lead time and accelerates the start-up of the unit with already established safety and quality standards. For FS, the project creates a closed link between production, storage, and shipping, increasing productivity and traceability from the tank to the transfer of custody in the truck.
