Replan started the Coke unit with Rotork actuators
In June of last year, Replan started the Coke unit, which aims to use LPG, naphtha, gasoline and fuel oil remaining in the residue from the vacuum distillation of petroleum (RV). unit is the loading of the four reactors with the RV, the disposal of the Coke and the preparation of the reactors for a new load. For all valves involved in this process, Replan adopted state-of-the-art Rotork IQ2 actuators.
In the maintenance group's view, what differentiates Rotork actuators from the others is the IQ-Insight diagnostic tool, which allows a detailed reading of the torque profile at 100 points, in addition to keeping records of the last 1024 events and accurate measurement. torque through the piezo resistive sensor.
Already in the “start-up” phase, the precise measurement of the point-to-point torque allowed an assembly failure to be identified in the gearbox of a WedgePlug valve, which has a combination of linear and rotary motion. Improper assembly caused high torque at a single point and then it was free. This behavior would not be noticed by conventional torque measurement systems, and could cause greater damage to the set.
Recently, through a detailed analysis of the HV98508 diagnostic file, the root cause of a problem with the valve was identified, which allowed Rotork to define corrective actions immediately implemented on other valves in similar applications, preventing further damage. Due to the great usefulness of these resources, Replan requested a qualification training for its technicians, carried out on December 20 and 21 by Fluxo's service team.
