Fluxo introduces Enraf technology to the Brazilian ethanol market

Fluxo supplied the first complete telemetry system with Enraf technology for an ethanol plant in Brazil. The plant is located in Ipaussu-SP, and is one of Raízen's 24 production units. The delivery of the products has already been carried out and the operation is expected to start at the end of the month.

The telemetry system acquired by the Raízen plant consists of Honeywell Enraf radars, thermometric tapes, local indicators, telemetering supervision software, level switches system and level alarm panel.

The project scope was not limited to the products. Fluxo provided the project, specifications, assembly and interconnection details, assembly supervision, commissioning and start up.

Raízen is a leading technology company in the markets where it operates. Raízen's first motivation for obtaining the system was for operational safety reasons, but Raízen took the opportunity to implement inventory control in the six ethanol tanks in operation at its unit in Ipaussu.

The success of the system is attributed to the efforts of Fluxo and Honeywell to develop a system architecture especially suited to the ethanol plant segment. In this architecture, the necessary equipment for the requirements of the ethanol market and operational reality of the plants were foreseen, with product excellence at the appropriate cost. The architecture is composed of radars with an uncertainty of up to 3mm, thermometric tapes with an accuracy of 0.1°C, local indicators, a data concentrator where the variables (level, temperature, tonnage, volume at 20°C) and viewing information for the operation. The system can be with data transmission via cable (wired) or wirelessly (wireless ISA100).

Raízen is the main producer of sugarcane ethanol in the country and the largest individual exporter of sugarcane in the international market, with a production of two billion liters of ethanol (from sugarcane) per year.
