Flow and Capstone's technical lecture fills the room at the Abes congress

Per Ane Milena Oliveira

Energy and environmental efficiency of sewage treatment. This was the theme of the lecture that around 130 professionals and students in the sanitation area attended on October 6th at RioCentro. The lecture took place during the 28th Brazilian Congress of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering at Abes and was given by the Capstone Sales Manager for South America, Edgardo Vescovo, the Sales and Operations Director at Fluxo Paulo Frank and the Operations Manager for the Unit of Engineering and Systems at Fluxo Daniel Barros.

The speakers presented Capstone's microturbines, the most suitable equipment for use in sewage treatment plants that seek to reduce environmental impact, damage to the soil, water and air, with maximum efficiency. Microturbines use biogas as fuel, and offer a very low level of emissions, high energy efficiency and effluent treatment. Another point discussed in the lecture was the Brazilian case of Copasa, a company that has the largest installation of electricity generation using biogas through microturbines in the world, with a capacity of 2.4MW. This project earned Copasa the main trophy of the National Quality and Sanitation Award as the best management solution for environmental sanitation services in 2015.
