Last year, FLUXO supplied Adonai Química with a fuel leakage monitoring system for the first pump station. The system is able to detect leaks in the gas or liquid phase and stop the pumps automatically, avoiding a possible fires, a very serious and critical situation inside fuel terminals.
In case of leakage, the liquid is directed to a small collection box, where a hydrocarbon detector manufactured by Leakwise is able to quickly detect small amounts of product. A few milliliters are enough to trigger the detector, even if the room is already wet.
If the leakage is primarily a dispersion of flammable vapors, specific gas sensors with infrared technology - with T90 response time of less than 4 seconds for Methane - manufactured by Honeywell have been installed in a strategic position for detection and also automatically shut off the pumps.
For fire control, the system uses Honeywell Fire Sentry FS24X flame detectors. Equipment with Multispectral IR3 flame detection, with greater ability to detect the IR spectrum than conventional methods on the market, also feature FirePic™ technology that stores the data and information that preceded the event for future analysis.
The solution supplied by FLUXO guarantees high reliability in pump station operations and greater safety for the terminal as a whole. Adonai Química has already adopted the FLUXO solution as the standard for its future pump stations, and is currently installing the second system acquired.
