Alderley expands operations in Brazil in partnership with FLUXO

Per Sylvio Fonseca

Company was contracted to supply produced water treatment systems, HPUs and chemical injection systems for FPSOs that will operate in Brazil

FLUXO's partner, Alderley Systems, from England, was hired in January of this year by the Saipem/DSME consortium to supply the produced water treatment system for Platform P-79.

The FPSO-type platform will be installed in the Búzios Field, in the pre-salt layer of the Santos Basin. The scope of the contract provides for the supply of an induced gas vertical flotation system and hydrocyclone battery, as well as the provision of supervision, start-up and system testing services.

In July, another major contract was awarded to SMS-Specialised Management Services (SMS) by Keppel Shipyard of Singapore. The scope of the contract includes the supply of two hydraulic power units (HPUs) for FPSO P-78.

HPUs are compact units designed to facilitate the operation of systems and provide the energy needed to move installed valves. subsea or not topside of the platforms. FPSO P-78 will also operate in the Búzios Field. SMS is a subsidiary of Alderley Systems.

The excellent performance of the Alderley Group does not stop there: two other important contracts were signed for the supply of HPUs and chemical injection system (CIS), respectively, in April and June of this year. The CIS is a system designed for dosed injection of chemicals, and in this way it aims to obtain better efficiency in the well, avoiding operational problems related to the contaminants present in the oil.

The contracted systems will be installed in the FPSOs that will operate in the Atlanta and Parque das Baleias fields, which will be chartered by Enauta and Petrobras, respectively. Yinson Production, based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is responsible for the construction and operation of these FPSOs.
