Baker Hughes and FLUXO: full service for valves life cycle management

Per Paloma Melo
Valve lifecycle management through Baker Hughes system

A portfolio of products and services offering expertise and effective information to keep valves always working as they should.

Valve Lifecycle Management (VLM) or valve lifecycle management, integrates the best tools and products from Baker Hughes - Masoneilan to an extensive network of local service partners around the world to provide a complete, unified valve fleet management solution.

As VLM it is possible to know the health of the asset, reduce maintenance and plant downtime, increase valve life and act on valves before they fail.

According to data collected by Baker Hughes, valves represent 25% of a plant's assets, but most sites do not have a holistic lifecycle management solution. Statistics show that 92% of all maintenance outages are unplanned, more than 40% of them are related to non-critical equipment and unplanned outages cost 4 times more than planned ones.

VLM works by optimizing the three phases in the life cycle of each plant: its start-up, operation and maintenance stop.

Through ValvAwareTM it is possible to monitor anomalies undetected by DCS, identify the root cause of process variation, identify and quantify valve performance and recommend services and solutions for optimization. In addition, it makes it possible to store the complete service and maintenance history via cloud-based architecture, with the ValvKeepCLOUDTM asset manager.

The VLM solution helps to plan downtime, predict and prioritize which valves should undergo interventions, eliminating services on healthy valves.

The control valve lifecycle management solution developed by Baker Hughes makes valve digitalization a reality, bringing safety, productivity, efficiency and knowledge to the asset. FLUXO is Masoneilan's certified service provider to provide the market with VLM service through valve management and diagnostics, data analysis, valve integrity and maintenance prioritization. In addition to providing inventory plans to assist in downtime planning, minimize maintenance time and reduce Opex.
