Forum and Fluxo offer desalters and electrostatic treaters to the oil & gas market

Forum is proud to announce that Fluxo will represent its line of electrostatic oil treaters and desalters in Brazil. Forum acquired the Edge Electrostatic (originally called Howe Baker) product line from Cameron in 2010 on the recommendation of the US Department of Justice. Forum is approved worldwide by major operators and was recently recommended as the "technology of choice" for heavy oil by most major US refiners, after receiving multiple repeat orders for the same type of equipment.

Forum has emerged as the leading supplier of electrostatic treaters / desalters in the US over the past two years, and is now expanding into the international market to provide oil processing companies with a competitive option for the most diverse oil treatment needs. Our success stems from implementing old and proven technology and taking a common approach including innovative concepts.

We incorporate these changes with empirical knowledge of global designs and operational ease of equipment. One of the things that contributes most to the success of Forum is the updating of existing units. Older designs or even new installations that do not fully meet operators' expectations will now be able to benefit from the technological upgrades that Forum develops.
This can be something as simple as adding a KAR (Kick Amp Responder) to the existing transformer, all the way up to a complete overhaul of the vessel's internals. The KAR is a device developed by Forum that can be “included”, and automatically sends the best voltage gradient to the electrodes, based on the conductivity of the charge or emulsion that is in the vessel.

By providing the ideal voltage continuously 24 hours a day, the operator will notice an improvement in efficiency and a reduction in chemical and energy consumption. This installation is something that can be done easily and externally to the vessel, with little interruption of operation.

Forum is also now offering a new Peek inlet bushing, designed for 1000psi, which is capable of going through multiple thermal cycles. This will allow the user to operate the equipment for longer periods without having to stop to replace the high voltage input bushing.

Forum dehydrators/desalters are an excellent economic option, allowing for lower operating costs, shorter downtimes, presenting a reliable and stable performance. The more difficult the oil treatment application, the more economically advantageous the Forum design is when compared to competitors. Forum is also responsible for over 1,000 Howe Baker electrostatic units installed worldwide, providing spares, service and process troubleshooting.
We are very excited about this partnership with Fluxo, hoping that their knowledge and market experience will lead us to a successful relationship. Users will be able to contact Fluxo to schedule an analysis of their process by Forum and assessment of the needs to upgrade and improve their operational process.
