FLUXO visits Curtiss Wright plant in Texas
In late September, Fluxo President Hideo Hama and Oil Services Unit Director Sylvio Fonseca visited Curtiss Wright's manufacturing facility in Baytown, Texas. The factory, one of the most modern in the world, produces heavy equipment for different market segments, however with an emphasis on the oil and gas area.
In the refining area, we highlight fluidized electrolytic cracking (FCC) units, hydrotreaters, fractionation towers, reactors, regenerators, delayed coking units, orifice chambers, among others, made of alloy steel, such as: chrome, molybdenum, vanadium, super austenitic stainless steel alloys - super duplex with high corrosion resistance.
Curtiss Wright maintains strict control of the quality standards of its products, being certified by ABS to the ISO 9001 standard and authorization for the manufacture of pressure vessels given by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) having the seals U, U2, S , PP, R and NBBI (National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors).
This modern manufacturing unit, in addition to having manufacturing technology such as bi-metallic welding, clad, overlays and hardsurfacing, has state-of-the-art machines, as well as a calender for thicknesses of up to 8" and a maximum width of 4,100 mm, in addition to spindle, rotary table, heat treatment ovens, hydraulic press, overhead cranes with 4 x 100 ton lifting capacity, 15 meter ceiling height and gigantic painting cabin (15m x 15m x 65m).
The company also has access to the sea and can transport by ferry, through the Houston Channel and later access to the Gulf of Mexico, large, extremely heavy equipment with dimensions that are not suitable for land transport.
Curtiss Wright, through Fluxo, has several supplies to Petrobras of valves for the bottom and top of coke drums (DeltaValve), in addition to isolation valves for processing petroleum coke.
