Petrol Instruments, Italian company 100%, based in Aprilia, Italy, specializes in the manufacture of positive displacement type flow meters. The company is the only one in Europe to use the "roots" technology (pair of rotors) to measure the flow of liquids.
Petrol has extensive experience in the production of positive displacement flow meters used in various fields of industry for custody transfer, operational controls and other needs of the petroleum, chemical, pharmaceutical industry, among others. Petrobras already uses more than 10 Petrol meters in the Campos Basin.
Petrol's flowmeters have as main characteristics: the double chamber construction, which allows keeping the measurement unit without removing the entire meter from the line; technology of floating rotors that never touch, which prevents them from wearing out and provides more durability; different types of construction materials and magnetic transmission, which provide a total seal between the wet and dry parts.
Petrol's positive displacement flow meters are manufactured in sizes from 1" to 16", which provide security in measuring small volumes at high speed, work with a maximum pressure of 200 BAR and a maximum temperature of 250ºC and do not face problems in measure the flow of high viscosity liquids, greater than 50,000mPa.s.
