Roberto Bastos is the new person in charge of Fluxo's Engineering & Systems Unit and Services Unit
I joined Fluxo in November 2013, at the invitation of President Hideo Hama. On the occasion, he provoked me to participate in a contract management workshop, in which I would be the speaker and at that moment, you could say that it was "love at first sight". We continued to mature the partnership until March 2014, when I also started to have more contact with Director Paulo Frank, which ended up uniting the ends and laying out the best way to work.
In the first year at Fluxo I worked as a consultant, mainly in the commercial possibilities involving construction and assembly services, both for the Engineering & Systems Unit and for the Services Unit. This work allowed me to have a good integration with the teams, when I could see the technical commitment and quality in the management of both units. At the end of 2014, with the changes that emerged in Fluxo's portfolio and the need to operate in new markets, I was invited, in 2015, to exercise the role of executive manager, more active in both areas, basically with three focuses: 1) integration of teams both in the field of management and in operational procedures involving techniques, quality and safety. 2) monitor and act directly in support of the units, so that they reach their goals established in their action plans, both operationally and commercially, 3) implement new work options, strengthening operational structures in fields within Fluxo's already consolidated scope, but also that they insert the company in new markets.
The Engineering & Systems and Services Units are very close, and at times we even have difficulties in separating them. Both produce solutions and services, differing only in form. This is enough to understand that many procedures must be equal and possible to be done together. Certainly, in the future, several activities will be carried out centrally by a team, serving both areas, consequently with lower cost and more efficiency.
I have been in the oil & gas market since the beginning of 1972. Back in 1983, in Bahia, already in a large industrial plant assembler I was operational manager, sharing the room with our president Hideo Hama, at the time commercial manager of the same company . Hence the mutual recognition of friendship and professionalism. My career involves practically all segments of engineering, as I worked in construction and assembly, as well as oil & gas (gas pipelines, petrochemicals, refineries and platforms), mining, pulp and paper, hydroelectric (including Itaipu), steel and etc. My family and I were willing to live in 20 cities in Brazil. This set brings experience and a volume of contacts and recognitions, which can certainly be the gateway to a new job or support for those already hired or recognized.
