Automind announces partnership with Asel-Tech

Concern for the environment has led users of oil and gas pipelines to demand a faster and more accurate response from leak detection systems. Depending on the level of demand, just the use of a technology may not be enough. To serve this market, Automind Industrial Ltda. decided to combine its RTTM (Real Time Transient Modeling) SPS/LeakFinder technology with Acoustic Technology, to increase the efficiency of the system by making it possible to detect leaks even with the duct blocked.

The solution of the union of two different technologies was possible through a new partnership with Asel-Tech, a company that has been acting significantly in the segment of leak detection in Brazil and abroad (Saudi Arabia, Chile and now, USA), owner of acoustic technology. The junction between RTTM and Acoustic technologies meets the most demanding applications and offers more reliability to the systems.

Automind's leak detection solution comprises the SPS/LeakFinder product, whose exclusive distribution agreement was signed with Germanischer Lloyd (formerly Advantica) over 20 years ago. SPS/LeakFinder is present today in the largest and most complex pipelines of Transpetro: Opasc, Orsub, Osbra and Orsol.

The SPS/LeakFinder was developed based on the SPS (Stoner Pipeline Simulator) software, another widely used product at Transpetro, which, through mathematical models, simulates the conditions of the pipeline offline, as a way of detecting possible leaks. In the spectrum of technologies available on the market, those developed by Germanischer Lloyd, in addition to being pioneers, present greater precision and effectiveness, as they make use of rigorous models, which manage to reflect with a high degree of fidelity the conditions of transport of the pipeline (RTTM).

“The marriage between RTTM and Tecnologia Acústica will perfectly meet the demands of the market, following the world trend in increasingly safer operations and committed to the environment”, says Antônio Manuel, Director of Business Development at Automind.
Regardless of the joint action, both Automind and Asel-Tech will continue to offer their technologies independently, where they are best applied.
