Pressure Swing Adsorption System (PSA)
Manufacturing: Quadrogen Power Systems
Quadrogen's Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) Systems are compact solutions for large-scale gas purification, focused on upgrading biogas to biomethane and purifying high-purity hydrogen.
How it Works
Quadrogen's patented fast-cycle pressure swing adsorption (PSA) system is a market-leading technology for gas separation. At high pressures, different gases, such as oxygen (O2), nitrogen (N2), carbon dioxide (CO2), and water, are adsorbed onto the kinetic medium.
During the exhaust stages, the pressure is reduced and the adsorbed gases are released, allowing the kinetic medium to regenerate for the next production cycle. By enhancing biogas from landfills, digester gas, or well gas, Quadrogen's PSA technology enables it to meet the stringent specifications for natural gas pipelines and vehicle fuels.
applications
Fast-cycle PSA technology is employed in two main high-value applications:
- Upgrading to biomethane: essential for converting biogas into biomethane (CNR). The system removes CO2 and other contaminants, raising the gas quality to standards for injection into the gas grid or for use in vehicles.
- Hydrogen (H2) purification: efficient recovery of H2 from various gas streams (including Synthesis Gas and refinery gas) and purification to the high degree of cleanliness required by mobility applications and chemical processes.
Main advantages of the Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) System
- Compact and skid-mounted for easy installation and integration.
- Proven reliability for robust and continuous operation.
- Simple operation with quick start-up and shutdown.
- Market-leading performance with recovery rates up to 98%
- Low operating costs with minimal consumables and utilities.
