The Proximity Card Reader is a radio frequency (RF)-based reader connected to a microprocessor device capable of interpreting various card formats and transmitting card data to the AccuLoad or directly to an automation system.
How it works
The Smith Meter Proximity Card Reader offers a reliable, high-performance method for identifying drivers and users to the AccuLoad or directly to an automation system. It's ideal as a bay or loading island reader.

- Custody transfer in loading and unloading of liquid petroleum products
- Batch loading of biofuels, gasoline and diesel oil
- Loading tanker trucks, rail cars or barges at terminals, distribution bases and piers
Card Reader Features
- AccuLoad NEMA-4 (N4) front-mount or Split Architecture (SA) human-machine interface (HMI) for Division II approved areas
- Light-emitting diode (LED) with red, green, yellow, buzzer, and relay, all of which can be remotely controlled by an automation system
- Direct interface with AccuLoad or automation system
- Card authorization valid until programmable timeout expires (1 to 99 minutes) Utilizes serial communication port (EIA-232/485) and Smith protocol communications
- Available for N4, Division II approved areas or hazardous locations, Division II approved areas
