Innovation overcomes the challenge of solidifying heated oils and redefines efficiency standards in the port sector

Unprecedented solution applied at the Port of Paranaguá transforms a recurring technical bottleneck into a competitive advantage for liquid bulk terminals.
Inovação vence desafio da solidificação de óleos aquecidos e redefine padrões de eficiência no setor portuário

The movement of heated vegetable oils requires precise temperature control to prevent the product from solidifying — one of the main logistical bottlenecks in the port sector. When subjected to inadequate conditions, the oil loses fluidity, compromising deadlines, increasing operational costs and even paralyzing operations.

Faced with this challenge, FLUXO developed a solution that combines automated thermal control and high-performance insulation to ensure the ideal temperature at all stages of loading. The result is a safer, more efficient and reliable process, with significant operational gains for the terminals.

At Cattalini Terminais Marítimos, a national reference in the movement of liquid bulk, the new technology marks the third phase of a project that began in 2023. The highlight is the installation of a new skid with an integrated thermal system, which allows simultaneous loading in two bays, increasing the capacity and agility of the operation.

More than just delivering equipment, FLUXO acted in a consultative capacity, developing a customized solution for the terminal’s needs — with a focus on automation, thermal stability and continuous process control. “Our goal is to understand the client’s scenario and apply our expertise to deliver solutions that truly add value,” says Fábio André, Commercial Director at FLUXO.

“With this project, we are responding to our purpose of offering solutions that are appropriate for the business and that meet the needs of our customers, with agility, safety and respect for the environment.”

Replicable technology: an opportunity for the entire sector

For the terminal market and industries that depend on the movement of liquid bulk, the solution used by Cattalini Terminais is a practical example of how technology can transform challenges into a competitive advantage. The model adopted is fully replicable and represents a concrete opportunity to increase operational efficiency, reduce risks and boost the entire logistics chain.
