Electronic preset Honeywell/Enraf Fusion4 MSC-L is approved by Inmetro

Per Joaquim Barroso

The electronic pre-determiner model Fusion4 MSC-L, manufactured by Honeywell/Enraf and distributed exclusively by Fluxo in Brazil, was tested and approved with guarantee of accuracy in the informed volume, as well as validated as immune to electromagnetic interferences that are inherent in the field. The model was approved by Inmetro last June.

The Fusion4 MSC-L Preset (Multi Stream Controller - Loading) is becoming the preferred application in the automation of liquid bulk loading terminals in the country. The Fusion4 series of equipment is the most modern and intuitive technology available on the world market, featuring an 8” WVGA color screen and a user-friendly operating interface, as well as innovative hardware, which makes it a complete option and the perfect choice for the customer who wants the state-of-the-art in their loading docks.

It is noteworthy that the Fusion4 MSC-L controls up to six loading arms simultaneously for safe and accurate loading and transfer of high value-added products for road, rail and maritime terminal loading. The equipment is also Inmetro certified for use in classified areas in accordance with the FM and ATEX certificate.

In Brazil, there are already 14 terminals using the equipment, including fuel bases, chemical product terminals, plants and gas treatment units. Clients include Cattalini Terminais, in Paranaguá-PR; Ageo and Adonai, on Ilha Barnabé in Santos-SP; Oxiteno, in Rio Grande do Sul, Ultracargo, in Itaqui; Comperj and Galvani; Enerflex; in addition to the ethanol plants of FS, BP, Itaramati, Colorado and CEM; and loading C5+ at Eneva, in Maranhão.

The Fusion4 model brings an innovative concept in charging control:

  • Ability to simultaneously control up to 6 independent loading arms and 24 flow meters, with their respective in-line mixtures, additives and marking;
  • Excellent I/O capacity, allowing control of future demands, as happened in the past with the need to control additives, markers and the mixture of biodiesel in diesel;
  • Specific development for loading and unloading;
  • Modular design that allows future expansion of I/O's, which can increase the capacity of arms to be controlled;
  • Firmware updates made in the field through the Local Access Device (LAD), which uses an SD card, being certified for use in a hazardous area, and it is not necessary to use a computer in the field. It is the only preset on the market that has this function;
  • Intuitive interface in Portuguese with icons on an 8” color display: no special training required for operators;
  • Advanced alarm management: monitors twice as many parameters as other models;
  • Real-time diagnostics: dashboard for quick problem identification;
  • Modbus TCP/IP terminal management software (TAS) interface for fully automated terminal control;
  • Configurable I/Os: association of any function to any input or output (I/O);
  • Record in non-volatile memory of 10,000 transactions and 100 calibration records;
  • It performs driver identification and stores vehicle data entry, product programming, recipes, and loading control in a simple and secure way.

The electronic pre-determiner is the intelligence of the charging system and makes up the solution for terminal automation provided by Fluxo, which includes flow meters, digital control valves, ground and overfill monitors, top or bottom loading arms, etc. . All these equipments can be assembled and interconnected in a metallic structure (skid) designed and manufactured by Fluxo in Brazil, which delivers the system ready and pre-commissioned for start-up in the field.
