Fluxo provides first cogeneration system for the food industry in Brazil
A food industry in the interior of São Paulo acquired, through Fluxo, a microturbine from Capstone Turbine Corporation, powered by natural gas, to be installed in its plant next August.
The microturbine will be the first unit operating in the industrial sector in Brazil, as today the largest applications of the equipment are in the Oil & Gas and Sanitation markets.
Energy and gas cost savings
The Capstone microturbine will allow the customer to migrate to the Comgás cogeneration tariff, which is the lowest cost among all types of tariffs, saving more than R$ 0.80 per m³ of gas consumed, in addition to delivering more than 18 thousand kWh/month of electrical energy produced by the system, which corresponds to more than 25% of its total consumption.
The result of the reduction in your natural gas and electricity bills will bring a return to the customer that will offset the amount invested in the system in a period of less than two years of use.
In addition to the sale of the Capstone microturbine, Fluxo also provided its complete installation through its Integrated Solutions department, which will be responsible for the complete installation of the system, including the design of the project, the electrical interconnection of the microturbine with the customer's electrical bus. , the modification of the natural gas supply line and the interconnection of the microturbine exhaust with an existing dryer, where 100% of the generated heat will be used.
Capstone's microturbine cogeneration has an extremely high energy efficiency and almost 90% of the natural gas energy is converted into electrical energy and heat, resulting in an excellent cost-benefit for the end customer, with greater plant reliability and reduced dependence on the electrical network.
