Emerson and Daniel will make 1st OGX Oil Measurement

Fluxo and its represented Daniel Measurement & Control (a company of the Emerson group) supplied the flow measurement system for the FPSO OSX-1, chartered to OGX for a period of 20 years. The first equipment to extract oil for OGX, the FPSO will start producing in the country by the end of 2011 in the Waimea field, Block BM-C-41, in the Campos Basin, with a production capacity of 100,000 barrels of oil per day.

The FPSO OSX-1 was built in Korea, and later customized at the Keppel shipyard in Singapore, to meet the technical specifications requested by OGX and the requirements of Brazilian legislation. The shipyard was responsible for manufacturing, modifying and improving the set of modules located on the ship's hull, known as the "topside", where the flow measurement system manufactured by Emerson-Daniel, partly at its Sorocaba unit, was installed. part in Singapore.

The FMS (Flow Metering System) of the OSX-1 has 100% Emerson flow measurement solutions, with highlights for the custody transfer measurement point, in offloading, with the Daniel 3804 16” ultrasonic meters, in two operational meters configuration. and a stand-by to service the maximum flow of 6,875 m3/h, and the compact tester Daniel P-40 (largest compact tester manufactured in the world). For the fiscal oil measurement point, Daniel 3804 ultrasonic meters are also used, which are also calibrated with the Daniel compact tester. Micromotion 6”, 8” and 10” gauges are used for oil appropriation and operational measurements; Rosemount 8705 magnetic meters are used for water measurements and for all gas measurements, Daniel plate holder valves (Senior orifice fitting), industry standard for Natural Gas measurement, are used. Finally, for the measurement management, the DanPac measurement control system was provided, developed by Daniel and made up of S-600 flow computers approved by Inmetro.

Daniel is the only supplier capable of offering a wide range of its own products in the flow measurement system, assembling the oil measurement skids in Singapore (lower logistics cost) and the gas ones in Sorocaba, with project management and all services in Brazil, in addition to having years of experience in delivering flow measurement solutions in compliance with ANP requirements.
