In a speech delivered in Brasilia on March 19, US President Barack Obama repeatedly emphasized the importance of renewable and ecologically sound energy sources, and the US efforts to foster initiatives in this direction: “…the only long-term solution The term for the world's dependence on fossil fuels is clean energy technology and that's why the US and Brazil are increasing their cooperation in the area of biofuels.” concluded the president.
“Capstone Turbine, from California, sold US$ 2 million in high-tech equipment serving millions of Brazilians…”
It was in this context that Obama specifically referenced a project that is being implemented by Fluxo with its representative Capstone for cogeneration of energy from biogas produced at the Arrudas Effluent Treatment Plant, in Belo Horizonte. In this project, Fluxo used three sets of C800 microturbines totaling a nominal power of 2.4MW, which have as their main characteristic their high energy efficiency, and emission of gases with the lowest NOx levels, being the solution with the best results for the environment. In addition to the microturbines, Fluxo provided a biogas compression, drying and filtering system, which was developed in partnership with Unison Solutions, with a technology transfer agreement.
