Automind provides automation for Gasduc III

The Gasduc III (Gasoduct Cabiúnas-REDUC III) connects the Cabiúnas Station to the pipeline interconnection manifold, to be installed at the Campos Elíseos station.

The gas pipeline was divided into two sections, the first supplied by the Odetech Consortium - formed by the Odebrecht and Techint Companies - and the second supplied by the Galvão-Contreras Consortium. Automind is the integrator company hired by both consortia to implement the entire automation of the system.

Eleven automatic shut-off valves (SDV) were installed in the pipeline, which will serve to reduce the inventory of gas released into the atmosphere in the event of a leak. The actuator is equipped with pilots for closing the valve in case of low pressure in the pipeline or high speed of pressure drop, configured in an electronic system (“Line Break”).

The system implemented by Automind allows all blocking valves installed in the launcher and pig receiver (SDVs and XVs) to have their position monitored remotely, as well as the two intermediate SDVs that may also have a closing command triggered from of the supervisory system.

In the pipeline, instruments were installed to monitor flow, temperature, pressure and indication of the passage of “pigs” interconnected to the supervision and control system developed by Automind. This system enables the centralized operation of all equipment installed along the pipeline, from the Master Station of Transpetro (National Operational Control Center – CNCO).

Automind completed its services in March 2010 and the pipeline has been in pre-operation since then.
