Shafer actuators: definitive solution for pipelines

The gas supply crisis from Bolivia boosted the development of Brazilian natural gas production. The increase in production starts to demand a greater flow structure, which generates the expansion and construction of new gas pipelines in the country. Fluxo Soluções Integradas, through its represented Shafer Valve Company, has the ideal solution for automation of gas pipelines when a minimum level of human intervention for maintenance and high system reliability is desired.

Shafer gas hydraulic actuators have a 10 year factory warranty but are designed for a 50 year life. High vibration immunity, ease of installation, simplicity of operation and compact design are characteristics that reflect the high quality of manufacture of the equipment.

The working principle of Shafer's gas-hydraulic actuator features only one moving part called Rotary Palette or Rotary Vane, which remains constantly lubricated and makes valve automation a simple and long-lasting solution. In the Shafer actuator, the gas from the line remains in the cylinders without penetrating the actuator body, thus preventing impurities and moisture from causing corrosion and possible locks in its internal mechanism. This is the advantage of the gas-hydraulic actuator over the direct gas, which is driven by a piston, and the gas from the line penetrates inside it to generate the torque. In the case of gas-hydraulic, the hydraulic fluid forms a seal for the gas, preventing the entry of impurities.

Added to this, the Shafer actuator has controls such as: high and low pressure pilots, mechanical and electronic line breaks (pressure drop rate detector), which allow a safe operation and without spurious failures of the pipeline. Fluxo also offers local technical assistance, performed by professionals trained at Shafer's factory in the USA.
