Chemtec supplies to Shell
Chemtec Energy Services is Shell's new supplier for fuel additives and marking. Earlier this month, Fluxo and Chemtec began delivering the first shipment of a total of 154 injectors of additives and markers to Shell Brasil's supply bases. The supply included 64 injectors for the Ipiranga loading pool, in São Paulo, 42 for the São José dos Campos base, in São Paulo, and another 48 for Madre de Deus, in Bahia.
This is Chemtec's first supply in Brazil for injection and additive marking. The partnership Chemtec and Fluxo participated in a reverse auction and was the winner for the supply of injectors to Shell in Brazil. Internationally, Chemtec has extensive experience in supplying systems for additivation, including for Shell, at various terminals in the United States. Gary Williams, CEO of Chemtec, is the inventor of the world's first intelligent additive injector.
The process of adding and marking the fuels takes place directly in the lines of the loading arms of the tank trucks, where the injectors are installed. This procedure ensures that all fuel distributed by Shell meets the quality standards required by the company.
A Chemtec injector unit was in the Ipiranga loading pool for three months for functional testing and technical assistance. After loading the tanker, samples of the fuel were collected to assess its homogeneity. “The results obtained were considered satisfactory by Shell for the operation”, says Alexandre Brantis, an engineer at Shell do Brasil Ltda.
This Pool with Esso, managed by Shell in São Paulo, moves around 110 thousand m³ of fuel per month, of which gasoline and diesel together represent 85% of this movement.
