The expansion of the Cabinda Refinery marks an important moment for Angola in the Oil and Gas sector. The Cabinda Refinery, a strategic undertaking in Angola, represents a significant milestone in the country's Oil and Gas sector. The project is being implemented by a joint venture between Gemcorp and Sonaref, a subsidiary of Sonangol, with a total investment estimated at $920 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The refinery's planned capacity is 60,000 barrels per day (bpd) and will be developed in three phases. The first phase, with an investment of around $220 million, will provide a refining capacity of approximately 30,000 bpd. Subsequent phases, with an additional investment of $700 million, will increase capacity to the planned total of 60,000 bpd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The increase in Angola's refining capacity will reduce the country's dependence on imports of refined products. Completion of the first phase of the refinery, scheduled for the second half of 2024, will allow it to supply around 10% of the refined oil products consumed in Angola, rising to 20% after completion of the second phase. During construction, more than 1,300 direct and indirect jobs will be created, as well as significant hours of training for local workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
FLUXO is playing an important role in this transformation process, providing state-of-the-art technology for metering and fiscal control operations. FLUXO's expertise in measurement systems will be key to ensuring precision and efficiency in the refinery's transfer operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The scope of the project includes two main components: fiscal measuring stations and Honeywell Enraf compact testers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
FLUXO will supply fiscal measuring stations equipped with Coriolis-type mass meters, specified for the precise measurement of Diesel, Naphtha\/Gasoline, HFO and Jet Fuel. These meters are known for their high precision and reliability, and are fundamental to the efficient management of refined products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A notable aspect of this supply is that all the fiscal measuring stations will be entirely manufactured and assembled in Brazil, at FLUXO's facilities in Santana de Parna\u00edba\/SP. This not only reinforces Brazil's industrial capacity, but also guarantees strict quality control and optimized logistics for the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
FLUXO will also supply two Honeywell Enraf compact testers. These devices are essential for the calibration and verification of flow meters, guaranteeing the accuracy and reliability of measurements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of the highlights of Honeywell Enraf's testers is its Controller with local graphic interface, which allows users to visually monitor and control the tester's operation in real time. This feature offers a new level of control and precision in meter verification, a key aspect in custody transfer operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The controller features a six-line LCD display, showing critical tester data, including piston position, motor status, error status, cycle value, test run date and scan time. A portable Local Access Device (LAD) allows complete programming of the controller and provides multiple diagnostics, an active log and alarm history, secure alarm acknowledgement and, with an optional kit, complete management of the water withdrawal sequence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
