Petreco Process Systems, a Cooper Cameron Group company, was contracted by the Norwegian company Prosafe to supply top-side process equipment for the FPSO that will operate and process the oil from the Polvo Field, in the Campos Basin.<\/p>\n
Prosafe, in turn, was contracted by Devon Energy, USA and SK Corporation, from Korea, for the construction of the FPSO with the capacity to process up to 150 thousand bpd. The Polvo Field will be operated through a central fixed platform, where there will be 18 oil producing wells and another six water injection wells, in addition to the FPSO, where the process and utilities units will be located.<\/p>\n
For the stabilization and dehydration of around 50,000 bpd of oil, Petreco's supply comprises four three-phase separators (production and testing), a degasser and two low-speed electrostatic treaters, as well as hydrocyclones to treat the produced water for disposal.<\/p>\n
Petreco will also be responsible for supplying the complex injection water treatment system for distribution to the wells. The water collected from the sea will pass through a filtration system, deaerator towers to reduce the concentration of oxygen, through a vacuum in the gas phase, and electrochlorinators for the production\/addition of chlorine in the water, in order to control the growth of marine organisms.<\/p>\n
All equipment will be built in 32 weeks in Singapore and, once completed, will be hoisted, transported on barges and installed on the VLLC Apollo. The vessel is currently moored at a shipyard in Singapore to carry out the services of conversion and reinforcement of the hull, for the transformation into an FPSO.
\nPetreco Houston will be responsible for the basic and process engineering and also for the acquisition of the representative items of this supply, while Petreco Singapore will be responsible for the detail engineering and the manufacture of the equipment.<\/p>\n
The Polvo Field has estimated reserves of 50 million barrels and both the central fixed platform and the FPSO will be installed in a water depth of 100 meters. Both are expected to start operating in the 2nd half of 2007, and should reach a production peak of 50,000 bpd in the first half of 2008.
