The first LNG terminals in the country, Pec\u00e9m in Cear\u00e1, and Guanabara in Rio de Janeiro, are being completed by Petrobras. The technology adopted is innovative, with a FRSU (Floating Regaseification Storage Unit) in place of a traditional fixed regasification plant, as well as onshore storage tanks. In a country with continental dimensions such as Brazil, the alternative adopted in these two terminals is quite flexible, as, in a future need for gas in another region of the country, FRSU can be moved to a properly prepared terminal in this other region, so that connect to the gas network in this area.<\/p>\n
In this solution, FRSU is anchored on one side of the terminal, while LNG tankers are received on the other side. Liquefied natural gas is brought in by the ship, which discharges the liquid gas to FRSU's liquid gas storage tank. Then, immediately the tanker will be released for travel, as in any LNG terminal. At FRSU there is a regasification plant, which after making natural gas gaseous, sends this product to the network of existing gas distribution pipelines.<\/p>\n
The supply of Fluxo and its represented Emerson, Rotork and partners Cameron and KSB ranged from ultrasonic LNG measurement systems by Daniel, installed in the \u201cGollar\u201d - FSRU built by Gollar of Norway - to gas measurement stations, with capacity maximum 7.9 million m\u00b3 for Pec\u00e9m and 15.8 million m\u00b3 for Guanabara, installed on the piers of these terminals. On the other hand, it supplied 45 electric and electro-hydraulic actuators from Rotork and 160 valves from Cameron, Fisher and KSB for the piers. For the connecting rings of the piers to the gas network, it supplied 30 gas-hydraulic actuators from Shafer for the same valve manufacturers. Also on the piers, it provided complete chromatography systems for measuring C1, C6+, N2, CO2, humidity, sulfur compounds and total sulfur.<\/p>\n
The Spanish company Duro Felguera was responsible for the contract with Petrobras, Fluxo and their partners, in the positive expectation of providing full assistance for commissioning and start-up by Brazilian technical personnel.
