Ipiranga’s new base in Fortaleza adopts FLUXO’s Solution

Per Daniel Barros

Ipiranga firmly carries on with its expansion plan announced in April 2022, foreseeing capital injections of R$ 497 million in new bases and R$ 524 million in maintenance and other investments.

Ipiranga’s expansion plan involves network optimization, improving fuel stations’ sales volumes; expanding logistics infrastructure, by building new bases of operation in Fortaleza (CE), Marabá (PA) and Rio Verde (GO); and expanding its own stores and AmPm franchising.

In a partnership with the construction company Niplan, FLUXO also takes part in this Ipiranga’s plan through a supply to the new base in Fortaleza, whose commercial operation started in January 2023. The company provided three truck loading skids and three unloading skids, in addition to nine radar gauges to the storage tanks telemetry system, which entirely automated the base and made it ready to face any challenges, with the agility the current fuel distribution market demands.

Ipiranga Fortaleza is born with loading skids equipped with Faure+Herman turbinemeters and Brodie positive displacement flow meters, OCV control valves, Redlands loading arms, and Honeywell Enraf additive injector blocks. For unloading, there are KSB pumps, Yokogawa Coriolis meters and OCV control valves. The complete tank telemetry system was supplied with technology from the renowned Honeywell Enraf.

As it has also been announced, the group’ goal in 2022 and 2023 is to restore Ipiranga’s profitability, and the investment in fully automated skids is aligned with that strategy.

“We are thrilled to work with Operação Mulher (Woman Operation) team, a qualification program Ipiranga offers by with the objective of training women from the communities surrounding its operations, and to foster female inclusion in the fuel distribution labor market, currently overtaken by men. There are about 10 women working nowadays at the unit in Fortaleza,” celebrates Daniel Barros, FLUXO’s Operations Director.”

Ipiranga basis new operation in Fortaleza is born with the best equipment, supported by the largest Skids integrator in Brazil, FLUXO, operating with social commitment. “We understand that this is the perfect recipe for the success of this new Ipiranga’s fuel distribution base ,” concludes Daniel Barros.
