FLUXO retrofits Petrosul loading platform

Per Guilherme Ribeiro

In early 2022, FLUXO was chosen to revamp the rack A of Paulínia terminal's truck loading platform , in São Paulo. The project was driven by the need of adding a loading arm on each unit, which led to the equipment reallocation , so that unitA received new automation equipment, as well as a flow predeterminer.

Today, the project is already in the commissioning phase. The system will be controlled by the Fusion4 preset, manufactured by Honeywell Enraf, which is also the metering module’s flow computer and can simultaneously control up to six independent loading arms and 24 flow meters, with their respective online mixing, additivation, and markers.

Flow measurement shall be carried out by Faure Herman helicoidal meters, worldwide recognized due to their high performance and robustness, achieved through a helicoidal impeller, specifically machined to allow the measurement in a large range of viscosity. Their design causes the fluid velocity to be parallel to the blade, making it less sensitive to viscosity and density variation. your design causes the fluid velocity to be parallel to the blade, making it less sensitive to viscosity and density variation.

The loading valves exclusively supplied by FLUXO throughout Brazil are manufactured by OCV Control Valves, a company established in the USA since 1952, specialized in manufacturing valves, among them digital control valves, which are operated by the pipeline fluid itself, by means of a diaphragm.

The grounding and overfill system is centralized in the EXATA monitor, produced by FLUXO, which has connections for grounding and overfill permissives by independent relays. In addition to monitoring, it grounds the monitored compartment with independent indication for grounding and overfill with LEDs on the front panel.

This Petrosul’s loading platform project has also comprised goods supply and service provision for the peripheral interconnection of the vapor recovery unit (URVs), supplied by FLUXO to Petrosul, in 2020. FLUXO is licensed by Aereon/Jordan Technologies for local manufacturing of vapor recovery units and provides aftersales support in Brazil.

Petrosul, a national company with more than 21 years of history, stands out in the market due to its fuel storage terminals with a broad infrastructure, interconnection with its own pipeline to the largest refinery in processing capacity in the country (REPLAN) and with excellence in the services provided for fuel storage and loading.

Thus, FLUXO is still a reference in automation solutions for fuel terminals, supplying high quality products, supported by a qualified and experienced local engineering and service team, who are committed to observing good practices and the Brazilian regulations for every solution provided.
